Project contents and purpose

City Charge is a solar-powered charging station for easy recharging of smartphones and other mobile devices using electricity generated from solar panels. This raises public awareness of solar power generation and shows hospitality to foreign visitors as well. City Charge can also be used as a power source in emergencies.

Since October last year, the center has installed Japan's first City Charge in three locations in Tokyo and will engage in further spreading their installation.
