Start of Tourist Information Map Service Using Digital Signage
With the aim of increasing convenience for foreign tourists, from FY 2015, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau have been preparing digital signage in multiple languages, throughout the city, to provide sightseeing information and more. The locations where these services will be newly launched from May have been decided.
1 Service locations
Twelve locations (See attachment for specific launch dates and times)
2 Service hours
6:00 a.m. to midnight
Note: The digital signage in Ueno Park, installed in FY 2015, can only be used until 11:00 p.m.
3 Information provided
Sightseeing spots, accommodations, eateries, ATM locations, etc. (The route to their destination will be displayed on the screen for users.)
Note: It is also a hotspot for FREE Wi-Fi & TOKYO, a free Wi-Fi service that can also be used at metropolitan facilities with one registration.
4 Available languages
Japanese, English, Chinese (traditional and simplified) and Korean
