The Tokyo Metropolitan Comprehensive Consumer Center now offers multilingual consumer affairs consultations via phone
From April, the Tokyo Metropolitan Comprehensive Consumer Center has begun offering foreign-language telephone consultations in English, Chinese and Korean. When a call comes in for consultation in one of these languages, the caller will be connected with a telephone interpreter and the consultation will be held via a third party. We encourage calls from those experiencing problems with their purchases, contracts or other such consumer troubles.
Languages
English, Chinese, Korean
How to use the service
Persons requesting the service should call or visit the center in person. A consultant will connect them to a telephone interpreter and proceed with the consultation.
Note: The consultation is free, but the person using the service is responsible for all phone charges.
We will also continue to offer consultation services (in English, Chinese and Korean) with an interpreter present. If the presence of an interpreter is preferred, please call to make an appointment.
Note: The requested consultation day may not be available. Appointments cannot be cancelled.
