New approaches to spread the appeal of "TAMASHIMA"!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is disseminating information using various media to attract domestic and foreign travelers to the Tama area and the islands of Tokyo (TAMASHIMA).
Today, as SNS and online information often decide a traveler's next destination, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs and the Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau have set up official social networking site accounts to convey the appeal of TAMASHIMA to a broader audience. In conjunction with the launch, "InstaMeet," an SNS event emerging as a new global movement, will be held in fall. Through these platforms, local governments and SNS users come together in an interactive effort to spread the attractions of TAMASHIMA to the entire world.
In addition, a portal site that promotes the various seasonal attractions of TAMASHIMA from multiple perspectives has also been launched. This portal site delivers information to people throughout the world who developed an interest in TAMASHIMA through SNS and InstaMeet, which is not only useful but also has strong appeal that will make them want to take off on a trip right away.

1 SNS

Official Facebook and Instagram accounts were launched on August 7. These are updated about once a week.
These sites intend to show that TAMASHIMA are accessible places that offer various kinds of enjoyment so that they will become destinations for a weekend or long holiday trip.

2 InstaMeet

Along with the launch of the official SNS accounts, "InstaMeet" events will be held to promote the attractions of TAMASHIMA overseas.
InstaMeet is a globally popular gathering of Instragrammers. Instagram users get together at a designated place at a designated time and take photos together. While sharing Instagram tips, all participants enjoy the attractions of a specific place. InstaMeet is currently in the global spotlight for its capacity to simultaneously spread information across the world.
With the cooperation of the local communities, two InstaMeets will be held one time each in Tama and the Tokyo islands, with Masaya @Moonlightice, an Instagrammer with more than 500,000 followers serving as an instructor for taking Instagram photos. TAMASHIMA's appeal will spread through the lenses of Instagrammers.
