IOC Evaluation Commission Arrives in Japan
平成25（2013）年3月1日（金）、国際オリンピック委員会（IOC）評価委員会が立候補都市視察のため来日し、猪瀬知事はクレッグ・リーディ（Sir Craig Reedie）委員長を出迎えました。
出迎え後、猪瀬知事は記者団の質問に対し、「東京では、先進国ならではのホスピタリティ、おもてなしができるということをしっかりアピールしていきたい」「2020年オリンピック・パラリンピックは、日本に希望をつくるためにどうしてもやらなければいけない。東京都知事としてその責務を感じている。安倍首相をはじめ、各閣僚の方にも全力を挙げて取り組んでもらい、国家総力戦でやらなければいけない」と話しました。
On Friday, March 1, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Evaluation Commission arrived in Japan to conduct a four-day inspection of a candidate city for the 2020 Games. Governor Inose welcomed Sir Craig Reedie, Chair of the Evaluation Commission, upon his arrival at a Tokyo hotel.
After greeting Sir Craig, the governor responded to questions from the media, commenting, “I would like to make a firm appeal to the commission that only Tokyo, as a mature city, can offer a unique and sophisticated brand of hospitality.” The governor then added, “In order to create a bright future for Japan, we must bring the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games to Tokyo. As governor, I feel a strong sense of mission to accomplish this goal. Starting with Prime Minister Abe, we must also have all cabinet members involved, devoting their full energy to this endeavor. This must be an all-out national effort.”
