コストロTwitter社 CEO が知事を表敬訪問
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo Visits the Governor
平成25（2013）年3月26日（火曜）、ディック・コストロTwitter社CEOが、猪瀬知事を表敬訪問しました。
猪瀬知事から、東日本大震災の際、気仙沼中央公民館で孤立した446人をツイッターによる情報の伝達・連携によって全員無事に救助できた奇跡の事例を紹介したところ、コストロ氏は「ヨーロッパやアメリカの都市からは、東京都の活用事例を是非参考にしたいとの声を聞いている。このエピソードをTwitter社公式ホームページで紹介したい」と応えました。
また、知事から、都立公園の桜の花見情報を、ハッシュ・タグを使ってすぐにでも発信したいとの提案がありました。
On Tuesday, March 26, Dick Costolo, the CEO of Twitter, Inc., paid a courtesy call on Governor Inose.
The governor talked about how messages via Twitter helped save all the 446 people stranded at a community center in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture, when the earthquake and tsunami hit in March 2011. Mr. Costolo said that he heard that European and American cities are hoping to learn from how Tokyo is using Twitter. He added that he would like to put the Kesennuma story on his company’s official website.
Also, the governor told Mr. Costolo that Tokyo will soon start providing via Twitter updates of the blooming of cherry blossoms in metropolitan parks, using a hashtag.
