Governor Gives a Presentation in New York
平成25（2013）年4月15日（月曜）、猪瀬知事は、日米交流団体であるジャパンソサエティにおいて講演を行いました。
知事は、「今回視察したニューヨークの地下鉄は複々線であり、路線を交互にメンテナンスすれば24時間運行できる。東京では、まず今年中に、渋谷−六本木間で、都営バスの24時間運行を始めるつもりだ」と交通利便性の向上に向けた取組を発表しました。また、外国法人に対する税制優遇やビジネスコンシェルジュを設置する『アジアヘッドクォーター特区』について、「ぜひ東京に、ブランチでなく、ヘッドクォーターとして拠点を置いていただきたい。東京は成長する市場です」と語り、東京のビジネス面での魅力をアピールしました。
そして2020年のオリンピック・パラリンピックについて、「東京の招致支持率は上昇中。最近の招致委員会の調査では77％になりました。やはりスポーツする国民の情熱がなければ招致できません」と招致への決意を語りました。
On Monday, April 15, Governor Naoki Inose gave a presentation at New York’s Japan Society, a nonprofit organization committed to deepening understanding between Japan and the United States. There, the governor spoke of Tokyo’s efforts to improve the convenience of its transportation system, saying, “I inspected New York’s subways. The subways can operate 24 hours a day even if maintenance work is conducted because their quadruple-track system allows double-track services to be kept. In Tokyo we plan to introduce 24-hour services to the metropolitan bus system by the end of this year starting from the Shibuya-Roppongi route.” With regard to Tokyo’s Special Zone for Asian Headquarters, which provides tax benefits and a business consultation services for foreign corporations, he emphasized Tokyo’s attractive aspects as a business location, stating, “I hope businesses will not just set up a branch office, but their regional headquarters in Tokyo. Tokyo is a growing market.” He also spoke of his commitment to the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic bid. “Public support for Tokyo’s bid is rising. A recent survey by Tokyo 2020 placed this at 77 percent. We will not be able to win the bid without the strong passion of the nation’s people for sports."
