ニューヨーク市長と会談
Governor Meets with NYC Mayor
平成25（2013）年4月16日（火曜）、猪瀬知事は、ニューヨーク市のマイケル・ルーベンス・ブルームバーグ市長と会談を行いました。
知事は、記者からの質問に対して「会談の冒頭、福島県の三春滝桜の種子を寄贈して、その目録をお渡ししました。そして、ハリケーンサンディによる被害のお見舞いを申し上げまして、東京には高潮対策等、防災に関する様々な実績があり、その経験を提供する用意があることを伝えました。また、市長は、地球温暖化対策の会議であるC40の議長でもありますので、来年6月頃に、東京で技術的な問題についてのワークショップを開くことを提案しました。」と答えました。
さらに会談では、2020年オリンピック・パラリンピックのエンブレムの入ったTシャツに、市長と知事がお互いにサインして、知事より招致に向けた協力を要請しました。
On Tuesday, April 16, Governor Inose visited New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
Following the meeting, the governor, in response to questions from the press, said,"At the start of our talk, I presented Mayor Bloomberg with a certificate of our gift to New York of seeds from the Miharu Takizakura cherry tree in Fukushima prefecture.
I also expressed my sympathies for the damages the city suffered from Hurricane Sandy.
I informed him that we are prepared to share Tokyo's experiences based on our excellent record of dealing with disasters such as storm surges.
As the mayor also serves as chair of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, I suggested that Tokyo hold a workshop on climate change next June."
At the meeting, the mayor and governor signed two T-shirts carrying Tokyo's logo for the 2020 Games, and Governor Inose requested cooperation for the bid.
