The Arab Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo meet with Governor Inose
平成25（2013）年5月24日（金曜）、在京アラブ外交団が、猪瀬知事を訪問しました。
知事は「本日、このように多くの方々とお目にかかれることは大変光栄です。アラブ諸国の大使閣下及び大使館には、日頃から都政に大変ご協力いただいております。私は、アラブ・イスラムの文化・文明を尊敬しています。そしてイスラムが他者を愛し、受け入れる寛容な精神を持っていることも知っています。和を重んじて、寛容を重んずる日本人と相通じるものがあると思っています。本日、この場をきっかけに、皆様と我々の交流をさらに活発なものとしていきたいと思います。」と挨拶しました。
On Friday, May 24, the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo met with Governor at his office within the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
The governor greeted the group saying, “Today, it is truly an honor to meet with so many of you. I am grateful for your constant support, and that of your missions, of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. I fully respect Arab and Islamic culture and civilization. I also know that Islamic culture teaches its people to love one another, and has a generous spirit of acceptance. I believe that there are points in common with Japanese society, which places great value on harmony and generosity. I would like to use today’s meeting as an opportunity to bring about a more active exchange between different cultures.”
