平成25（2013）年7月3日（水曜）、猪瀬知事は、IOCテクニカルブリーフィングにおけるプレゼンテーションを終え、麻生副総理をはじめとするプレゼンターとともに、公式記者会見に参加しました。
会見終了後、囲んだ記者団からプレゼンテーションの手応えを聞かれると、「とても良い感じでした。今日、我々チーム日本は、持っている力を全部出し切り、とても爽快ですね。」と話しました。
また、招致レースをマラソンにたとえて「30キロ過ぎで一番疲れているとき、きちんと見取り図を持っているかだと思います。そうすると、今32キロになった、33キロになったとイメージが沸きます。今日のプレゼンテーションで、30キロを過ぎて、はじめてフィニッシュの位置が少し見えてきました。」と語りました。
After the conclusion of the IOC technical briefing on Wednesday, July 3, Governor Inose was joined by Deputy Prime Minister Aso and the other four members of the presentation team at the official press conference.
Following the press conference, the governor responded to questions from the media about his personal thoughts on the presentation. “I think it went very well. Today was a very exhilarating day for Team Japan, as we were able to put all we have into this presentation.”
Comparing the bid race to a marathon run, he said, “When you have just passed the 30 kilometer mark -- the most difficult point of the marathon -- everything depends on if you have a solid plan. With such a plan you can envision yourself at 32 kilometers, 33 kilometers, and so on. At today’s presentation, I feel like we passed that 30 kilometer point and are finally beginning to catch a glimpse of the goal.”
