Governor returns from Lausanne
平成25（2013）年7月5日（金曜）午後、猪瀬知事は、ローザンヌ市への出張を終え、成田空港に降り立ちました。
空港ターミナル到着口で囲んだ記者団に対して、知事は「IOCの委員から親しく話しかけてくれるようになったことが今回の大きな成果だと思っています。プレゼンを良い感じで受け止めていただき、東京のブースにも3分の2の委員に来ていただきました。」と成果を語りました。
また、「このローザンヌでは流れを引き寄せることができました。勝負は最後まで分かりませんが、何としてもトップランナーとしてゴールに入りたいと思います。まずはローザンヌでの反応を整理して、記憶が鮮やかなうちに次の作戦の基となる礎を築きたいと思っています。マラソンレースの最後の1メートルまで気を抜かないということです。」と招致に向けた決意を改めて語りました。
On Friday, July 5, Governor Inose arrived at Narita International Airport, returning from his official visit to Lausanne.
At the arrival area of the airport terminal, the governor told the press that “I think a major achievement of this trip is that many IOC members came to talk to me in a friendly manner. Our presentation was well received. And two-thirds of the IOC members visited Tokyo’s presentation room.”
He then reiterated his determination to bring the 2020 Games to the capital, saying, “During our trip to Lausanne, I feel we were able to turn the trend in favor of Tokyo. But we cannot see the outcome of the bid until the very end. In this bid race, I am determined to do all it takes for us to cross the goal line as the top runner. We will look over the responses we received in Lausanne, and, while our memories are fresh, lay out the foundation for our next actions. We will not drop our pace even in the last meter of this ‘marathon race.’”
