Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee reports on victory
平成25（2013）年9月17日（火曜）猪瀬知事は、東京2020オリンピック・パラリンピック招致委員会評議会の終了後、開催都市決定報告会に出席しました。
知事は、冒頭の挨拶で「最近空が明るく見えます。我々の心が明るくなったのです。チームニッポンが戦い、オールジャパンが支えて勝ち取ることができました。7年後には世界からお客様を迎えます。施設を作るにあたり、人が足りないと言われていますが、60代、70代の定年された技術者がたくさんいます。その方々が日本のために活躍していただけるものと思います。オールジャパンでやりましょう。」と会場の多くの方々に、大会準備への意気込みを語りました。
On Tuesday, September 17, following a meeting of the Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee Council, Governor Inose attended the committee’s briefing session to report on the triumph.
At the opening of the session, the governor expressed to the large audience his resolve to work hard in preparing for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, saying, “Recently, the sky looks brighter than before. It’s because we feel more positive. ‘Team Japan’ was able to grasp victory, thanks to the support from people all over the country. In seven years, we will welcome visitors from many parts of the world. Some say that workers are in short supply for constructing facilities, but there are many retired engineers in their 60s and 70s. I think they are willing to use their skills for Japan. Let’s make this an all-around effort of the nation.”
