Tokyo Residents Sports Award ceremony

On April 22, Governor Masuzoe presented the Tokyo Residents Sports Award to Taiki Morii, silver medalist in the Alpine Skiing Men's Super-G - Sitting event at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games held in Sochi.

Following the ceremony, the governor and Mr. Morii discussed various topics, including the Olympic Village and meals at the Sochi Games, as well as preparations for the 2020 Games in Tokyo.

The Tokyo Residents Sports Award was established in 2008 to honor the achievements of Tokyo athletes who earn medals at major international sporting competitions, and to share that excitement with the people of Tokyo.
