First meeting with the IOC Coordination Commission

On Wednesday, June 25, Governor Masuzoe attended the first meeting with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

At the opening of the meeting the governor said, "Although there are only six years to go before the 2020 Games, we promise a reliable delivery of the event. Also, we will put our utmost efforts into preparations so that people will look back on the Tokyo Games as a wonderful event."

The IOC Coordination Commission Meeting runs from June 25 to 27. As part of the visit, IOC Coordination Commission Chair John Coates and other commission members will also check the state of preparations for the 2020 Games and tour planned venue sites.
