Canada's ambassador visits the governor

On Monday, August 26, H.E. Mr. Mackenzie Clugston, Ambassador of Canada to Japan, paid a courtesy call on the governor.

The governor greeted the ambassador saying, "Japan's relationship with Canada is a very friendly one. Having held the 1976 Summer Games in Montreal, we respect Canada's experience hosting the Games, and hope that you will support the 2020 Games that we will host. Furthermore, both English and French are the official languages of Canada. And, I believe that Canada is adept at accommodating a very wide range of languages and cultures. I hope that Canada will teach us about this type of hospitality."
