On Tuesday, February 17, The Rt. Hon. The Lord Paul Deighton, Commercial Secretary to the U.K. Treasury, paid a courtesy call on Governor Masuzoe.

When the governor visited London last year, he met with Lord Deighton, who previously served as Chief Executive of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and discussed what Tokyo could do to successfully deliver its 2020 Games.

During the Tuesday meeting, Governor Masuzoe said that Lord Deighton’s advice has been very helpful, and spoke about Tokyo’s ongoing preparations, including the review of its venue plans, study on how to utilize Olympic legacies, and efforts to unite all the strengths of Japan.
