On Friday, October 9, Governor Masuzoe attended the Taste of Tokyo 2015 opening ceremony.

Taste of Tokyo 2015 was held over three days, October 9-11, with the aim of promoting the diverse attractions of Tokyo to other areas of Japan and the world, including cuisine incorporating agricultural, forestry, and marine products produced in Tokyo and traditional culture that has been handed down over the ages. In addition to the Marunouchi area, the location of last year’s event, the festivities were expanded to the Yurakucho and Hibiya areas. This year’s festival showcased not only Tokyo, but the various attractions of the entire country, as well as flavors from around the world.

Opening the ceremony, the governor said, “Tokyo has mountains, and it also has the sea. Fish, meat, vegetables, fruit—Tokyo can provide almost any type of ingredient. I hope that you will take the time to thoroughly enjoy the Taste of Tokyo event this weekend!”
