On Tuesday, October 13, Governor Masuzoe attended the Crisis Management Conference 2015 held in Tokyo.

In the opening address the governor said, “The 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in Tokyo in five years. We are now working to ensure that athletes and spectators visiting Tokyo can feel safe in our city. To this end, we believe that it would be important for cities to learn from each other’s experiences and deepen ties. Along with presenting reports on your cities’ pioneering efforts and best practices, I hope you will also engage in stimulating discussions.”

Crisis management experts from government agencies of overseas cities gather at the Crisis Management Conference to introduce and discuss measures taken to manage natural disasters and other crises. Eight overseas cities participated in this conference held for the 13th time―this time under the theme of “Comprehensive measures to minimize damage caused by disasters: Protecting the lives and property of all.”
