Governor meets the French Prime Minister in Paris

 

Governor Masuzoe is currently on a visit to Paris and London lasting from Tuesday, October 27 to Monday, November 2.

On Thursday, October 29, he met with French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls. The Governor reported on his meeting with Paris Mayor, Anne Hidalgo, the previous day, and the signing of an agreement between Paris and Tokyo. The Governor and the Prime Minister affirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation in various sectors including business and culture.

Following the meeting, the Governor visited the Halle Saint Pierre Art Museum and viewed Art Brut exhibits.

Later, he made a presentation at the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He promoted Tokyo as a continually progressing city, aiming to become truly mature, as well as various initiatives to realize a low-carbon society, such as the Tokyo cap and trade system.

From Friday, October 30, the Governor moves to London where he will seek insights for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2019 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, through attending, among other things, the final of the Rugby World Cup at Twickenham.
