Governor Masuzoe visited Paris and London from Tuesday, October 27 to Monday, November 2.

Arriving in London on the 30th, he attended a reception at the Japan Pavilion, which was established to publicize the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the attractions of the Japanese host cities.

At the Japan Society, an organization promoting exchange between Japan and the UK, he presented a lecture titled “Creating the Future City: Tokyo’s Vision and Action,” speaking about his vision to make Tokyo the best city in the world.

Following his talk, he moved to Trafalgar Square to see the Rugby World Cup fanzone where the public can enjoy food and drinks and a live screening. After his inspection, the governor said, “It would be important to prepare locations throughout Tokyo where people can easily gather and have fun. Although we need to study matters such as traffic issues, I hope to establish such places for successful delivery of the two global sports events we will be hosting two years in a row—the 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
