On Saturday, October 31, during his official visit to London, Governor Masuzoe met with former Director of Paralympic Integration for the London Olympics, Christopher Holmes, and International Paralympic Committee President, Philip Craven, and received advice on preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The governor on the same day observed the Rugby World Cup final in preparation for hosting the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the 2020 Games in Tokyo.

On Sunday, November 1, he heard explanations about the waterfront development and water transportation on the river Thames, and then visited Tate Modern, a museum that utilizes a building that formerly housed a power station.

At a press conference that wrapped up his seven-day visit to Paris and London, the governor said, “I felt that the success of the 2019 Rugby World Cup will directly lead to the success of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. I will work on the preparations for these two major sports events, treating them as a single event.”
