On Sunday, November 15, Governor Masuzoe attended a memorial service held at the French Ambassador’s official residence to mourn the victims of the Paris terror attacks, and offered his prayers for the victims, condolences to their families, and heartfelt solidarity with the people of Paris and France.

After the service, the governor told reporters, “This is not somebody else’s problem; we must be aware that Tokyo, too, could be a target. I will do my utmost to enhance our public security measures and ensure a safe environment.”

To pay tribute to the victims and show solidarity with Paris and France, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is lighting up the TMG Building No. 1 and the monument to the Tokyo 1964 Games in Komazawa Olympic Park in the colors of the French flag from Sunday, November 15, to Tuesday, November 17.
