On Monday, November 16, Governor Masuzoe attended the opening of the Tokyo Global Partners Seminar. Hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, this seminar welcomed the participation of senior officials in charge of city diplomacy at major cities around the world who work directly under their mayors and governors. The participants shared information on their experiences and the challenges they face, and engaged in discussion on promoting cooperation between their cities.

In his address, the governor said that as cities drive the world today, city diplomacy has an important role to play. He wished that the participants use this opportunity to gain an insight into the Tokyo of today and how it will look like in the future, and requested that they convey his message to their mayors and governors upon their return. He concluded his talk by saying how much he counted on them, as the key players in city diplomacy, to bring cities closer together and help build a brighter future for all.
