Hong Kong-Japan Business Co-operation Committee visits the governor

On Tuesday, March 22, Governor Masuzoe met with Hong Kong Business Co-operation Committee Chairman Jonathan Choi and committee members at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building.

The Hong Kong Business Co-operation Committee was established in 1979 with the aim to promote trade, investment, and other types of economic cooperation between Hong Kong and Japan. At the annual Hong Kong-Japan and Japan-Hong Kong Committees Plenary Meeting, information on the economic climate is exchanged and numerous discussions are held on topics such as commercial cooperation and resolving issues, contributing to economic exchange between Japan and Hong Kong.

At the meeting, the governor spoke about initiatives Tokyo is advancing, including in the areas of the environment and transportation, as well as the fact that the number of tourists from Hong Kong is rising. The governor expressed his hope that the people of Hong Kong come to Tokyo to experience the delicious food, wonderful environment, and changing city. He also spoke of his desire to further deepen economic relations between Tokyo and Hong Kong.
