Message of condolence sent to the Mayor of Tainan

The following message of condolence was sent by Governor Masuzoe to the Mayor of Tainan City, Ching-Te Lai.

Dear Mayor Ching-Te Lai,

I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and extensive damage caused by today's powerful earthquake.
On behalf of the citizens of Tokyo, I pray for all the victims, and express my sincere condolences to their families.
The people of Japan will never forget the support received from Taiwan following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Tokyo is prepared to extend all support possible.
