Tokyo 2020 Live Sites in 2016 – from Rio to Tokyo –

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, jointly with the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will set up live sites where people can watch the Rio de Janeiro Olympic and Paralympic Games on a large screen and enjoy other attractions.

"Tokyo 2020 Live Sites in 2016—from Rio to Tokyo," to be held during the Rio 2016 Games, will be the first official Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic program to be conducted in the same manner as the program will be conducted during the Tokyo 2020 Games.

At the live sites, visitors can enjoy live broadcasts of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, watch video content with realistic effects created with the latest technology, experience various sports, and purchase official Games merchandise. There will also be events carried out in collaboration with the three prefectures affected by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and municipalities. Venues and other details are shown below.

*A live site is an official program of the Olympic and Paralympic Games that allows people to gather at a place other than Games venues and enjoy thrilling live broadcasts on a large screen, stage performances, trying sports firsthand, and other offerings.
