Tokyo to Provide
Multilingual Booklets about Infectious Diseases

From April 7, 2017, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) will begin providing multilingual booklets for foreigners visiting and living in Tokyo about receiving early consultation regarding infectious diseases. This free booklet will be available in English, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Korean, Thai, and Spanish. The booklet provides useful information about how to receive appropriate medical care for infectious disease with a step-by-step guide, including detailed information about the treatment process. It is important to visit a medical clinic promptly, in order to ensure a fast recovery and to prevent the spread of infection. The booklet also includes the contact information of medical institutions which cater for non-Japanese speakers, as well as visuals to help describe symptoms to doctors.

The booklet is downloadable from here. (PDF:2,370KB)

Hardcopies are also available at various locations throughout Tokyo, such as the Tourist Information Centers at TMG, Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, Haneda Airport and Keisei Ueno Station. It will also be available at hotels and other tourist information centers.
