I am delighted and honored that Tokyo was chosen by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler as the Best Cities in the World for the second year running.
With such a great honor bestowed upon our city once again, I truly get the sense of the growing international interest in Tokyo.
Encouraged by this award, I am determined to further develop Tokyo as a city where tradition and innovation meet in the lead up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will be held just three years from now.I am looking forward to welcoming even more travelers into our community as we continue working to develop this city into one of the world's leading tourist destinations.
