Tokyo Metropolitan Government Accelerator Program “FinTech Business Camp Tokyo”
Now Accepting Applications for Participating Companies

In November 2017, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) announced the “Global Financial City: Tokyo” Vision, with the goal of making Tokyo an unparalleled global financial city. With the Vision stating the nurturing of the FinTech industry as a point of action, the TMG launched the FinTech-focused Tokyo Metropolitan Government Accelerator Program “FinTech Business Camp Tokyo” in FY 2017.
This program was created for foreign startup companies (hereinafter “foreign companies”) operating in the field of FinTech, and aims to provide them with mentoring from leading companies in Japan’s finance sector, as well as business matching with companies within Tokyo. The program will follow the sequence below, and focus on activities (2) and (3) over a short period of around two months.

  • (1) Call for applications from, and selection of foreign companies possessing the latest fintech technologies and business models, such as AI and blockchain.
  • (2) Provide support for the creation of business plans by matching the selected foreign companies with local financial institutions and IT vendors, etc.
  • (3) Host pitch events, with participants including investors and companies etc. from Tokyo.

Foreign companies possessing the latest FinTech technologies and business models (payments, management and procurement of funds, asset management, insurance, security, etc.), and which do not yet have a presence in Japan (see the website below for more details on applying).

Start of October: Introductory Seminar
October - November: Mentoring, business planning, networking, business matching
End of November: Pitch event (public)
