The Leaders of Tokyo and Paris Sign a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation Relating to the Olympic and Paralympic Games

In Paris, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo hosted a symposium on the theme of the legacy that follows the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Following the symposium, and in line with its themes, the two leaders signed “The Memorandum of Understanding on Olympic and Paralympic Cooperation Between the City of Paris and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government”.

1. Goals of the Memorandum

To bolster policies and measures to ensure the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and steadily advance initiatives in the lead-up to the 2020 and 2024 Games to ensure they leave a valuable and positive legacy.

2. Content of the Memorandum

Mutual exchanges and joint promotion of policies in the fields of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (sports), the environment, culture, tourism and more, and sharing of experience and expertise to these ends.
