Rugby World Cup 2019TM Fanzones in Tokyo

During Rugby World Cup 2019TM, Japan to be held from Friday 20 September through Saturday 2 November, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will be setting up Fanzones at Chofu Station Square and Tokyo Sports Square (Yurakucho) with the objective of providing sites where spectators from within and outside Japan can share in the emotions and thrills of the matches. Don’t miss the excitement!

3. Venue Details

(1) Public Viewing

Matches can be viewed at comfortable indoor venues and a large screen on a stage. After sundown, they can also be enjoyed on large wall screen.

(2) Stage

Look forward to seeing former Japan national team members and local top team members on stage. Live performances by different artists and comedians every day will also raise the excitement.

Anyone, from children to adults, can enjoy doing passes and lineout lifts with top league members.

(4) Eat & Drink

Savor the dishes of popular food trucks, including dishes that are a Japanese take on famous food of the participating countries.

(5) Communication Area

Enjoy various experiences such as a samurai drama photo spot and work shops in the traditional arts. Municipalities from the Tama area will also have booths to publicise their diverse attractions.

(1) Public Viewing

Enjoy viewing as you prefer: drinking beer with many other fans on the first floor (alcohol area), or a more leisurely atmosphere that even families with small children can enjoy on the second floor (non-alcohol area).

(2) Stage

Not only will a former Japan national team member provide commentary on the matches, but after the matches, live stage performances by artists and comedians will further raise the mood.

Visitors can not only experience rugby, but can learn about the history of the national team and see rare rugby jerseys and other treasures that are only exhibited here.

Enjoy not just alcoholic drinks, but original dishes with a rugby motif and famed dishes of the participating countries.

In addition to embassy  booths, many opportunities will be provided to experience the culture of the participating countries, such as New Zealand’s haka dance, and trying on a Japanese yukata kimono.

Rugby World Cup 2019TM will be held from 20 September to 2 November, 2019, at 12 venues located across Japan. The Opening Ceremony and eight matches, including the opening match, will be held at Tokyo Stadium.
