Photo Contest to Share the Appeal of 10 Cities in Asia

The Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia (CPTA) is running the “Welcome to Asia” campaign with the aim of attracting visitors from Europe, North America and Oceania and increasing interaction and exchange between Asian countries. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is pleased to announce that a photo contest is being held for the fourth time as a part of the campaign.

1 Theme

Throwback to My Trip in Asia

“Asian Cities” refers to the ten member cities of the CPTA: Bangkok, Delhi, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Metro Manila, Seoul, Taipei, Tomsk and Tokyo. Submissions that do not feature the above cities will not be considered.

2 Application period

From 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22 to Monday, August 31

3 Entry requirements

Applications are welcome to all, regardless of whether you are a professional or amateur photographer.

6 Winning photos

Each member city selects five photos for the excellence award, with a total of 50 winning photos.
From the winning photos, each member city selects one to further receive the “best photo” award, with a total of ten “best photo” winners.

7 Prizes

Winners of the excellence award will receive a canvas print of their prize-winning photo and a kumihimo (braided cord) bracelet Tokyo souvenir.
Winners of the “best photo” award will receive a special prize chosen by each member city.

8 Announcement of results

October 2020 (expected)

The Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia is the organization that promotes the Welcome to Asia campaign.
Through linking its 10 member cities it facilitates the mutual exchange of information and the development of tourism networks, and works to attract visitors from North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
