Safety Awareness Project to Start for Foreign Children Residing in Tokyo!

Tokyo has become more and more diversified; as of January 2020 there were approximately 580,000 foreign nationals residing in Tokyo. As a natural consequence, the number of children of foreign residents or with foreign origins has been increasing too.
Under the circumstances, the Office for Promotion of Citizen Safety will start a safety awareness project for children of foreign nationals residing in Tokyo. The project aims to improve the awareness of safety for children so that they will not become involved in crimes or get into other forms of trouble. The project includes the preparation of a guidebook containing basic knowledge of safety for children in multiple languages and simple Japanese, and the provision of seminars by specialists to increase awareness of safety.
