Comments by Governor Koike Yuriko on the Selection of the Host City for the 2032 Summer Games

Governor Koike Yuriko has made the following comments on the selection of the host city for the summer Games of the XXXV Olympiad 2032.
For details, please see the website of the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee.

Governor Koike’s Comments

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially selected Brisbane, Australia, to host the 2032 Games at the 138th IOC Session being held here in Tokyo.

From Tokyo to Paris to Los Angeles, and then on to Brisbane, the host city selected this time, I am very pleased that our cities are connected by the keyword “sports,” and that we will be able to collaborate and cooperate in a variety of ways.

I hope to make the Tokyo 2020 Games, which are a symbol of sustainable recovery, a successful new model for future Games, and as a legacy of the Games, pass our knowledge and experience on to future host cities, and build the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games together.
