Tokyo Doctor-Heli EMS Begins

The TMG has decided to launch a new Tokyo Doctor-Heli EMS in the Tama region to further enhance the emergency medical care system.

What is the Doctor-Heli?

A helicopter equipped with medical equipment and medicines necessary for emergency medical care rushes to the scene of emergencies with a doctor or other medical personnel on board to start treatment and transport the patient to a medical institution as quickly as possible.

1. Overview of Tokyo Doctor-Heli

(1) Operating Hours

From 8:45 a.m. to sunset

(2) Dispatch Requests

The fire department receives a 119 call, determines the severity of the patient's condition, etc., and makes a request.
(The general public cannot make direct requests.)

(3) Service System

Launch Base

Tama Aviation Center, Tokyo Fire Department

Base hospital

Kyorin University Hospital

Cooperating hospitals

Tokyo Medical University Hachioji Medical Care Center
Tokyo Metropolitan Tama Medical Center

(4) Rendezvous Point

Pre-registered location where the helicopter and ambulance meet and transfer the patient
