Tokyo to Hold “Festival d‘été de TOKYO” in Paris
PR event showcasing the unique charms of Tokyo in France this summer

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) will hold a PR event in Paris this summer. The “Festival d‘été de TOKYO” (“Tokyo Summer Festival) aims to showcase the unique charms of Tokyo, and promote tourism to Japan’s capital.

A series of events will be held in Paris that convey the unique charms of Tokyo, including a stage program, exhibition booths, hands-on programs, and other types of special content that allow visitors to visualize the atmosphere of summer festivals in Japan.

Event Details

1.Stage program (performances / workshops) 

This program includes concerts with Japanese drums made of Tokyo-grown wood from the Tama area, and live performances expressing the essence of Japan, as well as stage events where visitors can experience calligraphy, martial arts and more. These events will also include participatory workshops for visitors to enjoy.

2.Exhibition booths and hands-on programs

The event will include exhibition and sales of traditional crafts and products from long-established businesses in Tokyo. Along with tastings and sales of Japanese sake, produced in Tokyo, and sweets from traditional Tokyo shops, there will also be hands-on events where visitors can draw original manga. 3.Special content

Special exhibitions related to Tokyo include a two-meter-tall Godzilla statue on a backdrop of the Tokyo cityscape, in celebration of Godzilla’s 70th anniversary, as well as original prints and panels from the Captain Tsubasa anime adaptation of the manga series.

4.Other

The event will promote tourism by making use of the “Tokyo Tokyo” icon, reflecting the unique characteristics of Tokyo and promoting them both domestically and internationally, as well as to publicize the upcoming World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 and the 25th Summer Deaflympics Tokyo 2025. In addition, food and drinks will be provided to liven up the summer festival.
