Paralympic medalists pay courtesy visit

On October 1, Boccia competition medalists at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games paid a courtesy visit to Governor Koike.
The Governor said, “I think that many people were moved by your outstanding performance and enjoyed the competition. I would like this not to end up just as a memory of the Paralympics, but as the starting point to broader interactions. I believe this will lead to achieving diversity and inclusion.”
Individual gold medalist Sugimura Hidetaka said, “I am grateful to have been able to compete with so many athletes from countries around the world during the difficulties causes by the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been an athlete for 20 years, and I am happy I could demonstrate my efforts and the thoughts of all those who supported me through a medal." Pair silver medalist Takahashi Kazuki said, “I am happy to win the silver medal, but also disappointed because it is not gold. I want to win the gold in Paris three years from now.”
Paralympic badminton medalists also paid a courtesy visit on October 4th.
